Its owner and president is Vernon A. Miller who has close to thirty years experience in the industry. Prior to founding Caretenders, Mr. Miller was a senior executive with both Extendicare Limited and Beacon Hill Lodges of Canada Limited which, at the time, were two of North America's largest and varied health service providers to the seniors' market. June 2007 Caretenders successfully sold three of its British Columbia retirement facilities, Orchard Valley in Vernon, The Shores in Kamloops, and Cherry Park in Penticton. Caretenders is currently in the process of planning and developing a new retirement facility in Armstrong B.C.

Currently, Caretenders operates and manages the following facilities: In addition, Caretenders is working with a variety of private and not-for-profit groups in both the planning and development of seniors projects in British Columbia, Alberta, Manitoba, and Ontario.
